Environmental Expo

Organize a Lakes Region Environmental Expo in 2009 to incorporate 'green' building practices and their impact on the watershed

I think the idea of an environmental expo is great. I would like to see some description of the preliminary ideas. For example, will it focus on Lake Winnipesaukee or the greater lakes region? I believe a focus on LW will have the disadvantages of limiting the number of presenters but it will highlight the importance of the Big Lake to the overall environment and economy of the state. But, the real issues are watershed wide so the broader LW watershed reach would be my preference for a focus of the expo. I prefer to not include Squam and non-Winnipesaukee watersheds unless the presentations contribute to LW watershed issues.

We should begin this now .... summer is right around the corner .... marketing is a huge piece to ensure people attend.

An environmental expo is planned for July 17, 18 & 19, 2009 at Gunstock Mountain Resort, Gilford by The Lakeside Living Expo. They did a similar expo at Gunstock last year and had about 4,000 attendees. Their goal this year is to make the expo more environmental in nature with seminars and lectures. Dean Anson (603)520-3883 has details.
